Kurrajong Steel Homes formerly Kurrajong Constructions is an Australian owned company, originally established around 1988. We began from the small Sheldon homestead from which it takes its name. We changed our name to Kurrajong Steel Homes in 2000.

Now our state of the art office is based at Ormiston in the bayside area, 30 minutes from Brisbane city. Not limited to the Redlands, we build homes as far afield as Gold Coast to the south, Ipswich to the west and north to Caboolture.

Kurrajong Steel Homes

Kurrajong Steel Homes founder and builder John Bartrum started his career in the building & construction industry in the 1970s. Today John remains hands on controlling the initial site cut, footings / sub-structure and or slab / floor system ensuring a solid foundation and base for the longevity of every new home.

Terry the Termite, He’s the one visitor home owners fear the most. But when you build with Kurrajong Steel Homes you can relax with the knowledge that this once unwelcome house guest can no longer eat you out of house and home if he comes calling. Steel-framed homes are

You’ll love the designs and concepts Kurrajong Steel Homes has in store for you, take a look at some of
our winning designs below.

Being a non-combustible material, steel provides no ongoing fuel in the event of fire, providing a safe environment for you and your family, giving you even greater peace of mind

Not only is steel termite resistant but all Kurrajong Steel Homes are also protected against white ants. Damage caused to residential homes by termite attack are many times NOT covered by insurance – resulting in damages costing thousands if not tens-of-thousands of dollars in many cases.

Steel frames won’t warp, shrink, twist or rot giving your home longevity and unequal stability in extreme conditions.

Steel can span for longer distances creating more open spaces and greater design freedom plus straight lines and flat surfaces for optimal finishing.

Steel is environmentally friendly – It is completely recyclable and does not need to be treated with chemicals or pesticides like timber.

Steel is compatible with other materials which means it is less prone to differential expansion/contraction noise, unlike many other materials used in construction

Helping turn your dream into reality is Kurrajong Steel Homes’ highly-skilled design team. From first contact they will guide you through the design, planning, engineering and approval stages.

And whether you’re building several storeys, knocking down to rebuild or challenged by
an odd shaped, sloping, small or narrow block of land, Kurrajong’s designers specialise in working with and around these planning dilemmas.

They will ensure that the design and layout not only takes into consideration your budget and lifestyle but the aspect and location, to create a house that will become a much-loved home reflective of your individuality, needs and desires.
