Do I need to have purchased a block of land before I come to see you?
No, not at all. Although it is easier to design your home to suit the size, shape and aesthetics of your block, it is never too early to start planning. A Kurrajong representative is also more than happy to come and have a look at some potential blocks with you and offer their expertise.
How much does it cost to get started?
Our initial consultation is 100% free. We meet with you, check out your site, discuss ideas about your new home and create a brief specific to your site, budget and lifestyle.
How do I know what’s included in the price?
Kurrajong Steel Homes will, with your input, provide a detailed building proposal, outlining all the inclusions of your new home.
Can I use my own plans?
Yes, absolutely. If you already have a design, Kurrajong can provide you with an obligation free quote, and build from your plans.
What Contract do you use?
Kurrajong Steel Homes use the HIA QLD New Home Construction Contract. Should you like to view a sample contract before you come in to sign, our friendly staff will be happy to organise this for you.
Do we get to select building materials, colours, appliances, and the like?
Most definitely! Once we have signed the contract, we will arrange for you to meet with our expert Colour Consultant. Our Colour Consultant will assist you in your selection process and we can even provide the option for her to accompany you as you visit suppliers to make choices.
Can I make variations to my contract?
Yes, once your contract is signed you can still make variations/changes to the contract. Our team will discuss any variations you may have during the build process and outline any implications prior to carrying out these requests.
Who should I contact with any questions I may have?
At first point of contact you will liaise with your designer/sales professional. Once your design has been finalized and you have made the great decision to build with Kurrajong, you will be assigned a representative who will look after you through this special journey. Kurrajong Steel Home’s owner will also personally give you his mobile number in case you want to contact him for any reason.
Can we view your recently finished projects?
Yes, Kurrajong will be happy to provide you with a list of houses that we have completed, so you can drive by for a look. We can also arrange for walk throughs by appointment.
Can you provide references / testimonials of previous clients?
Yes, Kurrajong has many previous clients who are happy for you to contact them to ask them about their build experience.
Will my new home be energy efficient?
Yes, all new homes are required to comply with current government 6 Star energy regulations. Kurrajong will arrange your Energy Efficiency approval / certificate on your behalf.
When I build a new home do I need to get local council/shire approvals?
Yes and the great news is Kurrajong will look after this on your behalf as part of the service we provide.
Who will oversee the construction of my home?
You will be allocated with a Site Supervisor who will coordinate and look after all activities onsite. You can also request meetings with your Site Supervisor who will be happy to answer any building queries you have during the construction of your home.
The owner (John) will also personally supervise all projects from the site cut stage through to the completion of slab stage to give you peace of mind that the foundations are completed to our high standards.
How long will my home take to complete?
You build time will be written to suit your particular home and inclusions.
I would like a pool installed at the same time as my home, is this OK?
Absolutely! Kurrajong Steel Homes actually also do pools, so ask us about incorporating a pool into your new home build today. John also personally supervises all pool constructions.
